On its website and on the air, KWES-TV Odessa, TX (2/12, Huffman, Smith) reports that “68 patients at two Dallas-area Texas surgery centers…claim to have suffered damage to their vision – many of them nearly blind.” Sixty of those 68 “have filed lawsuits claiming a drug made by” Guardian, “a Dallas-based compounding pharmacy, led to their lost vision.”
The piece adds, “In a review, FDA investigators raised questions about the solution’s formula and process used to compound the drug.” Additionally, the FDA investigators “said they found the solution contained formaldehyde and acetone – preservatives” alleged in lawsuits to be “toxic to…clients’ eyes.”
